Welcome to Anxiety Management Help

AnxietyYour anxiety and panic attacks are frustrating at best and debilitating at worst, affecting your everyday life.  I know first hand how they can destroy your self-confidence and rid you of the joys of everyday living.

And you want to get back to a "normal" life and eliminate anxiety and panic attacks but with everything you try, they seem to get worse...

This site was designed for you...to clarify some of the confusion and share with you the resources that helped me get my anxiety and panic attacks under control.

Introduction

Anxiety disorders come in many flavors, shapes and sizes, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety (SAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Specific Phobia.

Panic attacks can occur at any time and hit you without warning.  They can literally make your life miserable.  There are numerous causes of panic attacks but it is widely believed that they come from a build-up of stress and anxiety, whereby the stress and anxiety reaches a sort of tipping point, causing an anxiety or panic attack.

So, to rid yourself, or at least control, the anxiety or panic attack, you have to get to the source of it.

What Causes Anxiety and Panic Attacks

The source of the attack, or the root cause, really depends on an individuals situation.  But for each person, there is generally a common build-up to the attack.

It could be a rapid heartbeat or chest pain caused by stress or a checmical imbalance.  The rapid heartbeat and chest pain could lead you to believe that you are having a heart attack, thus making your panic and anxiety attack even worse.

You may then begin to fear dying from your "heart condition" thus causing more and more of an anxiety build-up, until it boils over and turns into a full blown anxiety or panic attack.

Another example of a trigger might be the stress or fear of losing your job and not being able to pay the bills or feed your family if you are laid off.  Your mind begins to imagine that your house will be foreclosed on, you will lose loved ones, and you will be poor and destitute.

This type of stress and continuous worry about work and the potential loss of your job continuously feeds your body the sense of anxiety, which will continue to rise until you erupt like a volcano in a full blown anxiety or panic attack.

So, to fully understand and relieve yourself of your anxiety and panic attacks, you have to dig deep and fully understand and deal with the root cause.  Until you do this, you will not be able to fully treat the anxiety and panic.

Explore this site for common methods used to identify and control the root cause (the same ones I used) as well as to help manage your anxiety and panic attacks.
